The Epic Role Playing Game Manual

Players can immerse themselves in a wide-ranging and unique character creation process, which births culturally driven, diverse heroes built with an array of skills, specialties, masteries and grandmasteries. This volume also contains chapters for the gamemaster, or “Guide”, including game mechanics and rules, practical tools, plot development, storytelling advice, a treasury chock-full of high-quality and imbued items, and rules for large-scale battle and warfare.

Magic in Epic Role Playing, also detailed in the Game Manual, is as diverse as it is cool, made up of six distinct disciplines that fit seamlessly into the faculty skill system. With over 750 spells (called variants, as in: a variant use of the skill), each system of magic has unique powers, its own methods of application, feel and strengths.

The Game Manual was crafted by popular demand and contains all of the essential Epic RPG resources in one volume, previously spread across the Epic Role Playing Rules Manual and the Book of the Arcane. It also contains numerous clarifications, revisions, and two extra chapters: a sample campaign setting from Eslin (the Realm of Rullaea) and an excerpt from the Epic Role Playing Bestiary.

We are proud to offer the Game Manual in both hard and soft cover.

The Atlas of Eslin

A Unique Campaign Setting: Eslin is an imaginative and exciting fantasy setting, full of a wide array of divergent human races, and some strange and wonderful non-humans, too. You’ll find no elves, dwarves or orcs here! This volume contains three complete, different and geographically huge realms for Epic RPG adventuring and campaigns. Rullaea is the home of high feudal societies, the “godless” Pentonite religion and the twin scientific forms of magic – alchemy and metaphysics. Rimenor is the land of the primitive Fosts, filled with icy fjords, unexplored wilds and death or triumph on quiet fields of snow. In Ursyos-Elkinon, humans are subjugated by the dread overlords called the Buruk, who wield powerful mind magic and deadly serrated swords.

Making Gaming Easier

The first volume of the Atlas is packed with culture and realm-specific professions for players.

The Bestiary

The Bestiary is a wonderful blend of living, extinct and imaginary animals, as well as troves of monsters unique to Epic RPG and its primary campaign world – Eslin. The Bestiary teems with critters that have real world behavior, ecology niches and favored tactics in combat. From the giant hydra (think high school biology, not mythology) with its long paralyzing tentacles, to the cephalobe, which skulks in darkness waiting for minds on which to feed, to the mythical Beast of Morrowdown, Guides will find all of the creatures they require for countless hours of gaming.

A Resource for Players

The Bestiary also contains descriptions of common animals that inhabit wild and civilized lands. These include many animals that are employed as mounts and familiars for use by player characters.

The Weird of Skellbrith Free!

This free adventure is also designed to be a tutorial to introduce new players and GMs to Epic Role Playing. It takes place in Rimenor, a vast wilderness inhabited by a tribal people that call themselves Fosts. Mountains dominate the landscape and all open land is filled with sequoia and giant white pine forests.

Beohald village is on a cusp. Downtrodden and desolate since the old jarl mudered the clan bards in a fit of jealous rage twenty years ago, the tribe is spiraling ever downward. Opportunity knocks when the war canoes of a great warleader slide onto the shore of the fjord. The new jarl must choose to send his warriors into the taboo Skellbrith Pass to retrieve an ancient relic, or the general will walk his men through the village, to the pass, ankle deep in blood. The Weird of Skellbrith stands on its own or as Chapter 1 of the forthcoming campaign, Blood of Lauwenkai, a longer story filled with far-ranging and intricate story possibilities full of honor, redemption, greed, servitude and power.

Two months ago Morgad disappeared on a falconing hunt. The scheming and young Ceodell of Trugyle is widely believed to have murdered his brother. Seneschal Pencivorn was temporarily given the Regent Lordship of Duchy Trugyle until this matter has been settled. Matters grow worse, as assassins plot against the very king of Ehrlyr himself.
