In our campaign The Burning Sea our characters have finally journeyed to a far away mountain top, 15,000 ft up past a mountain vista Ochu to the Temple of the Wind, home of the Sixfold Order, Monestary of the Great Shen Alchemists. Aylish and I have been able to apply our strengths and knowledges here to learn more of Shen and Theology.
This monestary brings us away from our Kal cultures misguided religion worshiping false gods and allows us to focus on new illumination of the six virtues and inner strength. Only four alchemists exist upon an upper snow covered peak of the mountain, the eldest possessing what we have come to understand as an actual Philosophers Stone.
Our wives and some tribal elders have joined us after our 18 month leave, and some now study in the order. This may pave a way to take our people away from the false religion of the old ways. It has been enlightening to don the white robes of the Sixfold Order and study their teachings
Anyways, in our low magic world there is no 1 QP cost for free magic masteries, and no double QP arcana ma's. But our GM came up with a super Sweet Grandma for the order.
Uncharacteristically, you have to qualify for the grandma in Ceremony, Meditation and Philosophy under Theology; only then do you qualify for The Way, grandma of the Sixfold Order.
The Way gives you one more point of Essence, allows 1 QP Shen for free and actually lowers QP expenditures for all Shen variants. In addition, it gives you the Strike of The Lion variant at will (open hand impact 5!!!). Wow! I happened to have the Theology grandma in Philosophy already for Raja, so I was eventually able to obtain The Way! So cool!
This new ultimate grandma will be changing everything! The other Theology masteries of the Order are great too. Our game has been way fun, and I can't wait to go back to our people and start a new progression towards evolution in their philosophy. The desert sands will seem a dismal prison after the past 18 months on this mountain!
We love this game!!!
